RIP: A Remix Manifesto

Friday, March 26th, 2010

RIP is up for a GENIE award for Best feature documentary!

Check out the nomination for best feature documentary.

Watch the film online at the NFB website!  Brett Gaylor’s 6 year project regarding Copyrights and Intellectual Property Ownership and how it needs to be re-evaluated. Open Source Cinema was the seed of the project where contributers could remix the film, add their own two cents and be a part of the manifesto (you still can help as the film was designed to evolve and not end). So please check out the film and then add to it, make your thoughts and passions regarding copyright be heard.

Flame On!

I created this image with Escape Motion‘s FLAME. Such a remarkable thing to create so easily and result in such magnificent imagery. This is truly an amazing way to create pictures. Make sure you check out the gallery as well, to me it was proof this isn’t just some kind of online drawing toy, but a really amazing new digital paintbrush.

Reviewing my more recent posts you can find a series of vector line drawings I’ve been creating with Illustrator. I’ve been really happy with the results. Then I’m shown this free online drawing tool that makes what I’ve been doing look like the London 2012 logo (ick!). I’m gonna have to raise the bar sooner than I planned.
